Why James Madison’s Warnings Resonate Now
If our founding fathers are ignored we are doomed as a nation.
Knitted Together
Do not listen, founding father James Madison declared, “to the unnatural voice which tells you that the people of America, knit together as they are by so many cords of affection, can no longer live together as members of the same family; can no longer continue the mutual guardians of their mutual happiness; can no longer be fellow citizens of one great, respectable, and flourishing empire.”
James Madison, the architect of the Constitution, an ardent reader, an organized writer, a religious rights advocate, a farmer, Secretary of State, President of the United States, and co-author of the Virginia Plan wrote these words concerning disunity in the early republic during the 1780’s.
He additionally stated in Federalist Paper 14, “WE HAVE seen the necessity of the Union, as our bulwark against foreign danger, as the conservator of peace among ourselves, as the guardian of our commerce and other common interests, as the only substitute for those military establishments which have subverted the liberties of the Old World, and as the proper antidote for the diseases of faction, which have proved fatal to other popular governments …. All that remains, within this branch of our inquiries, is to take notice of an objection that may be drawn from the great extent of country which the Union embraces. A few observations on this subject will be the more proper, as it is perceived that the adversaries of the new Constitution are availing themselves of the prevailing prejudice with regard to the practicable sphere of republican administration, in order to supply, by imaginary difficulties, the want of those solid objections which they endeavor in vain to find.”
The woke “faction” which has penetrated the republic today is a force contributing to the “unnatural voice” Madison wrote about back in 1789. The relentless persecution of former President Donald Trump illustrates, in one way, Madison’s points. The consummate liars Adam Schiff, Nancy Pelosi, Maxine Waters, and many other corrupt Democrats maliciously planned and carried out political attacks against the former president and his millions of supporters. These supporters are now labeled white supremacists with no evidence to back this claim. Race drives the Democrats’ political war against American society. Will this continue to tarnish Trump’s 2024 re-election efforts?
Madison wrote about how Americans have a bond, a knitting together as a people born out of revolution. A people committed to republican government where the dictates of monarchy no longer exist. Today Americans can look back at their history, not the fallacies of the 1619 project, but events such as the Civil War, the Spanish American War, the reform movements, the Great Depression, World War I and II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Cold War, numerous recessions, the Civil Rights Movement, and economic challenges over the years to understand the unity of the republic. Like many factions of Madison’s time, there are factions today which deny that the US can go on and survive as a flourishing nation. These factions directed by Democrats, take away hope from citizens through their divisive calamities.
We the people can “continue to be the mutual guardians of our mutual happiness” as a nation, through studying the real history of the country, something John Adams and Thomas Jefferson thought was the foundation of a growing democracy.

“If you do not take an interest in the affairs of your government, then you are doomed to live under the RULE OF FOOLS
;
refusing to participate in politics is that you end up being governed by your inferiors.”
Bulwarks Of The Republic Violated
Please listen to the warnings of our founding fathers. Madison wrote, “WE HAVE seen the necessity of the Union, as our bulwark against foreign danger, as the conservator of peace among ourselves, as the guardian of our commerce and other common interests….”
The Biden administration violates this principle of the Union as a bulwark against foreign danger everyday. Look at what they have done: the continuous open border allows thousands of people from various countries to actually invade the US. They bring more poverty, disease, child trafficking, and fentanyl into the country. The Border Patrol is completely overwhelmed with the numbers of illegals. Texas and Arizona are overwhelmed. The federal government sits back while the US falls from within. Illegal immigration creates a redistribution and replacement of American citizens, the very citizens the Biden administration refuses to protect and support. Governor Abbot of Texas now builds the Trump era wall along the Texas border. His citizens remain outraged. There is no country without borders. No other country allows this for reasons of common sense.
They allowed the evacuation of Afghanistan leaving behind American citizens while simultaneously slapping the faces of the men and women who served over the twenty years of US involvement in that country. Limbs, minds, families, friends, materials, and leaders all lost in a war which now means nothing to the brainwashed woke leaders of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
China breaches this bulwark. Their military expands while Kamala Harris pushes racial division over antebellum slavery. Their trade dominates ours. Their computer hacks destabilize our communication grids and computer systems. Their government violates the civil rights of religious groups and Biden does nothing. Chinese influence controls the Biden family. Other countries influence and control the Biden family.
This whole administration needs to be impeached now. The US can not sustain two more years of this kind of rule from the top.
Madison stated that the Union is a bulwark as a conservator of Peace. However, the woke Cultural Movement, Critical Race Theory, Defund the Police Movement, Antifa, Black Lives Matter, and liberal college professors have made intentional moves to destabilize, internally, the US. All of the policies touted by the administration involve educational changes.
Biden Destroying the Economy
Madison wrote that the Union is a bulwark for economic opportunities and economic independence.
Steve Moore an economist and Fox News economics contributor states the following seven ways Biden is destroying the economy:
“Here are seven Biden administration steps to undermine an economy and a society from within. They will all sound familiar with the president's policies since he took office 21 months ago.
No. 1: Dismantle the nation's energy supply
We get 70% of our energy from fossil fuels. Biden has declared war on American oil and gas, making us more dependent on our enemies for our basic energy needs.
No. 2: Don't enforce the border
Biden is letting hundreds of thousands of potential criminals, terrorists, welfare recipients and enemies of the United States into our country through a porous southern border with Mexico. Immigration is good, but it must be orderly and regulated.
No. 3: Devalue the nation's currency through inflation
Inflation is up nearly 9% since Biden came into office. Inflation is a means to erode the value of a currency.
No. 4: Destroy the nation's finances by running up the debt by multiple trillions of dollars
No president in modern times has so recklessly pushed our nation into debt as rapidly as Biden through his $4 trillion in spending paid for with red ink.
No. 5: Divide rather than unite the nation
Rich versus poor, black versus white, gay versus straight, rural versus urban. Biden promised unity. Instead, he pits groups against each other. This is the identity politics of the Left that is the opposite of ‘e pluribus unum.’
No. 6: Dumb down and indoctrinate our children with anti-American propaganda in the schools and media
And allowing teachers unions and left-wing activists to take over the curriculum with anti-American propaganda. It is the opposite of nurturing patriotism and love of country.
No. 7: Decriminalize a lot
Let criminals onto the streets. End bail. Empty the prisons. Let minor crimes go unpunished. Biden's policies favor criminals over victims. It's a scene out of a ‘Batman" movie.’”
Biden halted the Keystone Pipeline and drilling on federal lands for oil and natural gas thus creating supply shortages for American consumers and raising prices. Between rising prices on food, consumer goods, over the counter drugs, car parts, and inflation across the board, the middle class has basically been taxed by their own president. Many of these failed policies came through executive orders and not through Congress and all just to spite Trump. They hate the former president.
Again, Madison wrote that the Union is a bulwark for economic opportunities and economic independence. The above examples tear that premise to shreds.
How can a US president contrive against his own people. He also lies and taunts the people right on television. He shrugs off challenging questions by laughing at the corrupted press corp or walks away. These episodes mark the beginnings of totalitarianism. It is a disgrace to the foundations of our government and our great history of overcoming problems together as Americans.
Action: vote these destroyers out of office. Be an educated voter. Read our history.
Great article!
"...Action: vote these destroyers out of office. Be an educated voter. Read our history."
If this was 15-20 years ago. As Mike Lindell has said repeatedly: "If we don't get rid of the machines, we lose our country!" Ask Arizona and Kari Lake about fair and free elections.
The first order is to rescue our vote so that it actually counts. I will vote, but I don't trust the results.
great piece, Fred!
